I Wanna Marry You Cookies….

You may just get a proposal if you make and share these cookies with the right person:)  I wanna marry you cookies are delicious.  Yummy.  Full of great flavor and texture.  Sounds a little weird to say your cookies have texture but with oatmeal, walnuts, milk and white chocolate chips they are full of flavor and terrific ingredients, just waiting to be dipped in milk!   I love chocolate chip cookies and wanted to use this recipe to celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day today!

I came across this recipe a while back when searching Pinterest for cookie recipes.  The photo drew me in and the ingredients intrigued me.  Who doesn’t love a full bodied cookie?  When I finally got to making them recently I was floored.  I have never made cookies in a pot before!  Really, one pot!  You melt the butter in a pot and then add the sugars and stir and stir until they’re incorporated.  Refrigerate for a bit, then add the other ingredients.  Since then, I have found a few that begin that way…….knock me over with a feather!  They’re delicious (but I already said that) and they look darn pretty too!  Let’s make a proposal (or I wanna marry you cookies) and see if they’ll fall in love all over again:)

  • Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • White Sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla
  • Flour
  • Oats
  • Baking Soda
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • White Chocolate Chips
  • Milk (or whichever chocolate you prefer) Chocolate Chips
  • Toasted Pecans or Walnuts
  • Baking Sheets  (remember to use your coupons)
  • Mixer ( I love my Bosch Kitchen Mixer but also like my Kitchen Aid)
  • Parchment Paper

These are fairly simple cookies to make.  There are two differences in this recipe that I haven’t done before
1.  Make them in a saucepan
2.  Chill the dough after they’re formed into balls for 20 minutes.

This recipe is based on one that I found at The Café Sucre Farine.  I love to experiment with recipes and make them my own, which is what I did.  A few things have been changed in the recipe and I hope you like them.  These would also be great made into ice cream sandwiches this summer!

Hope you enjoy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, and who knows what might happen?
